Browning students among select national group chosen to interact live with “Old Lady” series author

On September 9, 2022, 5th grade at Browning participated in a
live webcast with the author of “There was an Old Lady” series! During the live
webcast Lucille Colandro asked for classes to volunteer to read with
her.
Out of the 230 classrooms tuning in, Two classes at Browning -
Mrs. Sierzenga and Ms. Petrimoulx - were among 230 classes nationally to
take part in the live webcast.
Browning students were among four chosen to read to Lucile
Colandro.
“The class was so excited to tell her that they were going to be
writing their own old lady - stories after, she told them she wishes she
could read them - and then Browning students read part of her book on the live
broadcast!” Petrimoulx said. “Students were given a template of the Old Lady
story and they created their own version of the story they loved so
much.”
Colandro asked the groups what they thought she should write
about next- the Browning class suggested one its student’s - Hudson
Phillips - idea of a roller coaster. The author said “I loved Ms. Petrimoulx's
class idea - roller coasters.”
“This is definitely something the students were excited about
telling their parents about tonight and was excited about reading and writing
for the future,” Petrimoulx said. “They can't wait to do more live webcasts
with different authors in the future months.”
