From The Principal

As part of student progress monitoring, all of our Browning students will be taking the Winter Northwest Educational Assessment (NWEA) from January 6th through February 7th.  The NWEA assesses all kindergarten through sixth grade students in mathematics and reading.  Science is only assessed in the upper elementary grades (3rd-6th).  Our students also complete Narrative, Informational/Explanatory, and Opinion/Argument tasks (authentic writing pieces) which are formally assessed using a writing rubric.  We use the math, reading and writing student data to tailor instruction to each student's need.  By knowing each child's strengths and weaknesses we can best meet individual needs.

Our Vision
The vision of the Browning Elementary staff, with the support of parents and community, is to provide students with a rigorous, high quality education which meets their individual needs. The Browning community will respect, encourage and empower each and every student to acquire the necessary skills.

Our Mission
The W. B. Browning staff, with the support of our parents and the community, will encourage all students to attain their academic potential and enable them to become productive members of society by providing programs of academic excellence.

Our Beliefs
Teamwork is an essential part of a successful learning environment. Student success is the focus of the learning process. Effective teaching inspires, motivates, and engages students. The Browning community is moving forward together as lifelong learners.
